Client Director – Transportation (Melbourne)

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Client Director to lead a strategic transport portfolio in Victoria. The role will shape the vision for multi‑year projects across road, rail, tunnels, stations and digital mobility solutions, working closely with senior client executives.

Key responsibilities

• Define account strategy and drive growth for a confidential, enterprise‑level transport client.
• Coordinate integrated delivery across planning, design, engineering, digital data, sustainability and program management.
• Identify client goals, align engineering solutions, and lead pipeline origination and qualification.
• Develop win themes, embed ESG and resilience considerations, and mobilise enterprise capabilities for bids.
• Oversee strategic initiatives such as executive workshops, stakeholder engagement and regular business reviews.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in transport infrastructure or related consulting.
• Strong track record of building C‑suite relationships and securing large‑scale contracts.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi‑disciplinary projects across Australia and New Zealand.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of transport systems, network upgrades and expansions.
• Experience with mobility, ITS solutions and digital/asset data transformation.
• Understanding of ESG, sustainability and decarbonisation in transport projects.
