Cleaner – Working Alone

About the role

The Goldfields Regional Education Office is looking for a motivated Cleaner to work independently at a school in Kalgoorlie. This permanent full‑time role starts as soon as possible and involves maintaining a clean, safe environment for students and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Perform internal cleaning tasks such as carpet and hard‑floor maintenance, toilet cleaning, dusting, window cleaning, furniture and fittings care, and rubbish removal.
• Carry out external duties including cleaning verandas, covered areas, drinking troughs, removing cobwebs and general outdoor upkeep.
• Liaise with the Manager Corporate Services on all cleaning matters and ensure compliance with Department policies.
• Conduct monthly cleaning inspections together with the Manager Corporate Services.

Required profile

• Organised, reliable and punctual.
• Able to work alone and follow safe cleaning procedures.
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment and best practice methods.

Required skills

• Operation of cleaning equipment (e.g., floor scrubbers, vacuums).
• Safe cleaning procedures and occupational health standards.
• Carpet and hard‑floor surface maintenance.
