Civil/Structural Engineer

About the role

GPA Engineering is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer for its Adelaide office. The position is ideal for engineers with 4‑7 years of experience who want to broaden their technical capabilities across diverse projects in oil & gas, mining, water, power and more.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake civil and structural design, modelling and analysis for a variety of projects.
• Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop fit‑for‑purpose solutions and apply relevant Australian Standards.
• Participate in technical discussions, design reviews and progressively take ownership of project delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an Australian‑recognised institution or equivalent.
• 4‑7 years of relevant civil and/or structural engineering experience.
• Experience in heavy‑industry sectors such as oil & gas, mining, materials handling, water or power is highly regarded.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Structural analysis and design software: SpaceGass, SAP2000, RAM/Limcon, Strand7.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards: AS/NZS 1170, AS 1657, AS 3600, AS 4100, AS 5100.
• Design of steel and reinforced concrete structures.
• Exposure to civil design areas such as drainage, earthworks, pavements or roadworks.
