Civil Project Manager

About the role

A well-established, privately owned civil contractor in South East Queensland is looking for an experienced civil Project Manager to lead major urban development and road infrastructure projects. The role is site-based, between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, and offers autonomy, strong project continuity and the chance to own projects from planning and tendering through delivery, commercial performance and close-out.

Key responsibilities

• Take end-to-end responsibility for civil projects, combining delivery leadership with commercial oversight and stakeholder management.
• Manage residential and commercial land development projects.
• Manage and respond to tenders for new residential and subdivision construction projects.
• Guide a team of junior engineers assigned to your projects.
• Lead project compliance in line with the Business Management System.
• Oversee project planning and programming, and oversee procurement of plant, equipment and materials.
• Manage client and subcontractor relationships and review construction crew and subcontractor performance against estimates.
• Mitigate project performance issues and report production costs daily, weekly and monthly.

Required profile

• Experienced civil Project Manager with a background in urban development and/or infrastructure delivery.
• Practical, down-to-earth and low-ego, with a leadership style that earns trust on site and in the office.
• Takes initiative, solves problems and follows through; builds relationships with clients, subcontractors, supervisors and engineers.
• Comfortable working site-based between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

• Salary of $180K to $220K plus superannuation, vehicle allowance and bonus.
