Chef - Aged Care Facility

About the role

St Jude's Health Care Group is hiring a Chef for its Bethania Gardens aged care facility. The role ensures that food quality, hygiene and safety are maintained to the highest standards, meets nutritional requirements and keeps customers satisfied. It leads a kitchen team and is a hands-on position requiring dedication, attention to detail and a positive professional attitude. The position is permanent and part-time.

Key responsibilities

• Purchase and stock management for the facility
• Design and adjust menu items and service offerings
• Supervise and train new kitchen and hospitality staff
• Oversee food safety standards and practices

Required profile

• Significant previous experience in food services, ideally in health or aged care
• Experience working with specialised dietary requirements
• Experience designing and delivering menus and service offerings
• Knowledge of food safety protocols and procedures for the aged care sector
• Experience leading hospitality teams or hospitality venues
• Strong time management, ability to work to deadlines and to keep an organised, process-driven workplace
• Able to prioritise resident health and safety while delivering a creative, tasty menu
