Change Management Director

About the role

The Australian Tax Office is looking for a forward‑thinking Change Management Director to lead enterprise‑wide organisational, cultural and technology change. You will work within the ATO’s Enterprise Change Management framework to ensure that workforce needs and end‑user experience are central to every change initiative.

Key responsibilities

• Shape and oversee strategic change approaches across programmes and projects.
• Embed change into business‑as‑usual operations to achieve benefits realisation.
• Uplift organisational change capability and maturity through best‑practice adoption.
• Build senior stakeholder relationships to influence outcomes and resolve complex change challenges.
• Lead and mentor change management teams, assuring delivery of integrated strategies and roadmaps.
• Use data and insights to monitor readiness, adoption and outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading large‑scale change initiatives within a complex organisation.
• Strong stakeholder‑management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders.
• Demonstrated ability to embed change into everyday operations and drive continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and mentoring capabilities.
