Catering Chef - IRT Catering

About the role

IRT Group is a large-scale Central Production Kitchen (CPK) that prepares nutritious, high-quality meals for aged care residents using a cook-chill system, serving multiple aged care facilities. It is looking for a full-time Chef to report to the Production Manager, working Monday to Friday on a rotating roster, either 6am to 230pm or 830am to 5pm.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and portion meals according to menu requirements and production schedules
• Operate large-scale commercial cooking equipment such as kettles, ovens and blast chillers
• Ensure food meets high standards of quality, presentation and taste
• Maintain compliance with food safety, HACCP and workplace health and safety requirements
• Carry out temperature monitoring, recording and quality checks
• Assist with stock rotation, stock control and minimising food waste
• Work with kitchen and production teams to meet daily targets and support continuous improvement

Required profile

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent, or qualified chef experience
• Previous experience in a high-volume production kitchen, catering, healthcare, aged care or hospitality setting
• Strong knowledge of food safety and HACCP principles
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet production deadlines
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; reliable, organised and committed to quality
