Category Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Category Specialist to lead the development and execution of category strategies that support our procurement objectives across the Australasian region. You will work closely with internal teams to understand their needs and translate them into effective sourcing solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement category strategies to achieve procurement goals.
• Manage tender processes, evaluate supply options, and make informed sourcing decisions.
• Negotiate contracts and maintain strong supplier relationships to secure favourable terms.
• Monitor market trends, identify cost‑saving opportunities and mitigate supply risks.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with business objectives.

Required profile

• Proven end‑to‑end procurement experience, especially managing tenders and post‑award contract administration.
• Strong negotiation and contract management capabilities.
• Ability to analyse data and uncover cost‑saving opportunities.
• Knowledge of supplier relationship management and best‑practice procurement processes.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with internal and external partners.

What we offer

• Competitive salary ranging from $130,000 to $140,000 AUD per year.
• Flexible work‑from‑home arrangement up to three days per week (hybrid).
