Casual Security Officer - Paediatric Hospital

About the role

MSS Security is recruiting casual Security Officers for a paediatric hospital in Victoria. The role covers patrols, the control room and high-risk wards, and suits candidates with prior hospital security experience who can work confidently in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment. It requires flexibility and availability across a 24/7 rotating roster.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct internal and external patrols of hospital grounds, buildings and high-risk wards to ensure security and safety.
• Monitor CCTV footage, investigate incidents as required, and respond promptly to alarm panels and duress devices, reporting all events accurately.
• Manage access control and verify the identification of everyone entering the hospital premises.
• Ensure the safety, comfort and well-being of patients, visitors and staff, including de-escalating volatile situations.
• Deliver excellent customer service to staff, patients and visitors.

Required profile

• Full Australian working rights.
• Victorian security licence with the control room operator subcategory.
• Certificate II in Security Operations (or higher).
• Working with Children's check (or willingness to obtain one).
• Driver's licence.
• First aid and CPR.
• Two doses of COVID-19 vaccination plus a booster, and seasonal flu vaccination.
• Experience working in security within a hospital or healthcare facility.
• 24/7 availability.

What we offer

• A level 4 pay rate of $28.86 per hour, plus superannuation and shift penalties where applicable.
