Casual Registered Nurse - Oncology (Radiotherapy)

About the role

Icon Cancer Centres is hiring a Casual Registered Nurse to provide expert nursing care to patients undergoing radiotherapy. The role focuses on patient education, clinical assessments and emotional support, building strong connections with patients during their treatment journey. It is based at two locations in Sydney: Norwest (Norwest Private Hospital) and Wahroonga (Sydney Adventist Hospital).

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert advice and apply your skills in oncology nursing.
• Offer holistic patient support, including physical care, emotional guidance and referrals to allied health services.
• Collaborate with a dedicated team and support the Nurse Manager in daily operations.
• Ensure patient experiences match the service's values and commitment to quality care.

Required profile

• AHPRA registration is essential.
• Oncology experience is desirable but not essential; support is offered to develop in this area.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
• Flexibility to work weekdays between 7:45 am and 5:15 pm, with Wednesday and Thursday availability essential; shifts are typically 4 to 6 hours long, and rare weekend or extended shifts may occur.
