Casual Academic – Master of Creative Music Therapy (EOI)

About the role

The School of Arts at Western Sydney University seeks experienced music therapy professionals to join its casual teaching community. The role involves delivering lectures, tutorials, workshops and marking for the Master of Creative Music Therapy program on an ad‑hoc basis.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials and practical workshops.
• Mark assessments and provide constructive feedback to postgraduate students.
• Supervise student placements and support their professional development.
• Utilise e‑learning methods and platforms to enhance learning experiences.
• Collaborate with academic staff to maintain programme quality.

Required profile

• Postgraduate qualification (Masters or Doctoral) in Music Therapy.
• Current registration with the Australian Music Therapy Association as a Registered Music Therapist (RMT).
• Demonstrated professional experience as an RMT practitioner.
• Recent teaching experience at Masters level or proven teaching capability.
• Experience supervising student placements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse academic environment.
