Casual Academic – Field Trip Support for International Programs

About the role

The School of the Environment at the University of Queensland seeks casual academics to support International Programs field trips. Successful candidates will work alongside the Course Coordinator to deliver practical learning experiences for overseas students.

Key responsibilities

• Provide demonstrator support for practical classes, field work and excursions.
• Assist with marking, exam invigilation and preparation time.
• Facilitate class activities that do not require material development.
• Consult with students, moderate online discussion forums and be available for in‑person assistance.
• Attend induction sessions, required training and any additional academic activities directed by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Availability to attend the entire field trip at the assigned location.
• Compliance with the University’s Code of Conduct, OH&S legislation and relevant sustainability policies.
• Understanding of the Education Services for Overseas Students Act and related regulations.
• Willingness to undertake training and adhere to university policies.
