Cashier – Customer Service & Checkout

About the role

Foodsmiths is looking for a friendly and reliable cashier to join its team in Perth, Ontario. You will be the first point of contact for customers, handling transactions and ensuring a smooth checkout experience.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the electronic cash register and process cash, cheque, and credit/debit card payments.
• Scan items accurately and receive payment for goods and services.
• Greet customers, provide courteous service, and answer basic inquiries.
• Stock shelves, clean the counter area, and maintain a tidy work environment.
• Handle Interac transactions and use the price scanner efficiently.

Required profile

• Accurate and detail‑oriented with strong oral communication skills.
• Flexible, reliable, and able to work well in a team.
• Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing physical tasks such as bending, crouching, and kneeling.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced retail setting.
