Cancer Care Pharmacist – Oncology Pharmacy Specialist

About the role

You will lead the delivery of specialised oncology pharmacy services for a 35‑chair day unit and a 32‑bed Oncology/Haematology inpatient ward, ensuring safe and effective use of cancer therapies through clinical review, aseptic compounding, dispensing and patient counselling. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will help optimise patient outcomes across all cancer care pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services to patients receiving cancer treatment.
• Offer evidence‑based medication advice to the multidisciplinary team.
• Conduct clinical reviews, medication reconciliation and therapy monitoring.
• Support safe and accurate aseptic compounding services.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case discussions and cancer care planning.
• Promote medication safety and quality‑use initiatives.
• Mentor and support pharmacy team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent with current unconditional Pharmacist Registration with AHPR.
• Strong clinical judgement and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated experience in oncology pharmacy practice.
• Excellent communication and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Desirable: ANZCAP accreditation, experience in aseptic compounding, experience using CHARM software.
