C-130J Simulator Pilot Instructor

About the role

The C-130J Simulator Pilot Instructor will support the C-130J Key Account Manager and report to the C-130J Lead Instructor. The role provides training, administrative, and subject‑matter expertise for initial qualification, upgrade, and currency courses on the C-130J platform.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, deliver, assess, maintain and evaluate training and assessment materials for classroom and simulator sessions.
• Conduct C-130J Pilot Initial Qualification, secondary upgrade and currency training.
• Liaise with resident instructional staff at CAE and 37SQN as required.
• Contribute to Aviation Safety Management related to the training platform.
• Support internal CAE business initiatives as directed by the Lead Instructor.

Required profile

• Authorized by the Commanding Officer of RAAF Central Flying School as a competent Simulator Pilot Instructor.
• Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years Military Qualified Flying Instructor or Operational Flying Instructor experience, or at least 1 000 command hours on multi‑engine tactical transport aircraft (e.g., C‑27J, C‑130J).
• Completed or able to complete ground training segments of the C‑130J Pilot Conversion Course.
• Australian citizenship and eligibility for an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
