Business Development Manager – Renewable Energy Fund

About the role

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join Octopus Australia’s Melbourne or Sydney office. The role will drive capital‑raising outcomes for our renewable‑energy fund by building and managing relationships with large financial adviser networks, consultants and institutional investors.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with large financial adviser networks, consultants and key institutional partners.
• Develop and execute distribution strategies to meet fundraising and growth targets.
• Identify and convert new business opportunities across wholesale and institutional channels.
• Maintain high engagement with existing and prospective clients through meetings, presentations and regular communication.
• Represent Octopus Australia at industry events, conferences and forums.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support product positioning, client outcomes and market insights.
• Contribute to broader team targets and mentor junior team members where applicable.
• Undertake domestic travel as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (CFA or similar desirable).
• 5+ years experience in capital raising, asset consulting or client relationship management within financial services.
• Strong understanding of funds management, private markets and real‑asset infrastructure.
• Established relationships across large private‑wealth networks and institutional investors.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
• Highly organised, able to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
