Business Development Manager

About the role

The Business Development Manager is a full‑time, hybrid position based in Melbourne, VIC. You will be responsible for identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, building a strong pipeline and leading outreach across target markets. The role works closely with consulting and operations teams to align solutions with client needs.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct market research and opportunity analysis to target high‑potential segments.
• Prepare proposals, presentations and sales collateral for prospective clients.
• Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through negotiation to closing.
• Collaborate with consulting and operations teams to tailor solutions and ensure delivery.
• Nurture relationships with existing clients, gather feedback and identify upsell or cross‑sell opportunities.
• Track performance metrics, report on sales activity and continuously refine strategies based on data and market trends.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development, sales pipeline management and B2B client relationship management, preferably in consulting, finance or technology/AI services.
• Strong background in market research, strategic prospecting and the use of CRM tools for data‑driven decision‑making.
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills with the ability to translate complex services into clear value propositions.
• Ability to collaborate across cross‑functional teams, manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
