Business Development Manager

About the role

Renown Lending is seeking a hands‑on Business Development Manager to lead its broker and referral partner network across Australia. You will own the end‑to‑end origination process for asset‑backed lending deals, ensuring speed, discipline and commercial soundness.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and expand a portfolio of active broker and referral partner relationships within your territory.
• Receive, assess and qualify incoming deal enquiries against Renown Lending’s credit appetite and asset‑backed criteria.
• Prepare indicative terms, credit submissions and deal summaries for internal review.
• Guide brokers from LOI through settlement, providing clear communication and realistic timelines.
• Identify new broker and referral opportunities through proactive business development.
• Collaborate with the credit team to structure commercially sound, properly secured transactions.
• Maintain accurate pipeline records and report regularly on deal flow and relationship activity.
• Represent Renown Lending at industry events and broker meetings.

Required profile

• Proven experience in asset‑backed lending, commercial finance or a related credit/origination role.
• Existing broker network or the ability to build one quickly.
• Strong understanding of security structures, LVR assessment and credit fundamentals in an asset‑backed context.
• Commercially minded with the ability to assess deals rapidly and provide clear answers.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously with attention to detail.
• Self‑motivated and comfortable operating in a lean, initiative‑driven environment.
