Business Development Manager – Beverage & Liquor

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to grow our beverage portfolio across both on‑premise and off‑premise channels. Reporting to the Sales Leadership Team, you will own a defined territory, build strong customer relationships and drive distribution, shelf presence and promotional activity.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and expand an existing portfolio of on‑premise and off‑premise accounts.
• Identify, target and secure new customers that align with the brand portfolio.
• Develop and execute territory plans and structured call cycles.
• Prioritise high‑potential accounts to increase distribution and promotional participation.
• Build relationships with store and venue managers, leveraging independent liquor buying behaviours.
• Conduct regular account reviews to boost sales, distribution and profitability.
• Negotiate ranging, displays, case deals and trade programmes.
• Collaborate with marketing on campaigns, activations and brand initiatives.
• Use CRM tools to plan calls, track activity and report performance.
• Analyse sales data to uncover opportunities and inform strategy.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of sales experience in beverages, liquor, FMCG or a related field.
• Strong understanding of the Australian on‑premise and off‑premise liquor landscape.
• Proven ability to manage a geographical territory and structured call cycle.
• Hunter mentality with a track record of opening new accounts and re‑activating lapsed customers.
• Established relationships with independent liquor retailers and decision‑makers.
• Commercial acumen in negotiating ranging, promotions and trade programmes.

• Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce.
