Bus Tour Host

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Bus Tour Host to join Rottnest Express, the leading marine transfer operator to Rottnest Island. The role involves greeting guests, delivering engaging commentary, and ensuring a memorable experience on our cruises and bus tours.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests boarding cruises and bus tours and provide friendly, knowledgeable service.
• Deliver immersive commentary about Rottnest Island’s history, culture, geography, flora, fauna and wildlife sightings.
• Engage guests throughout the journey, answer questions and promote merchandise and experiences.
• Handle administrative tasks such as guest transfers, enquiries and upselling.
• Collaborate with the team to provide feedback for product development and maintain high‑quality service standards.
• Follow any reasonable directions from management.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a tour guide or host in the tourism sector.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer‑focused attitude.
• Ability to stand for long periods and work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
• Willingness to obtain a Senior First Aid certificate, Police Clearance and an Approved Bar Manager Certificate (if not already held).

Required skills

• Strong verbal communication and storytelling ability.
• Good knowledge of Rottnest Island’s history, culture, environment and wildlife.
• Ability to upsell products and merchandise.
