Breast Care Nurse (Temporary Part-Time)

About the role

Moree Community Health Service is looking for an experienced breast cancer nurse to lead compassionate, life-changing breast cancer care and empower patients through every stage of their journey. The role delivers advanced, patient-centred care and provides expert clinical consultancy across the breast cancer care continuum, coordinating care and supporting patients and families in line with McGrath Foundation standards. It is supported by the Community Health Manager, the Health Service Manager, colleagues in the oncology unit and the McGrath Cancer Care Network.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver advanced, patient-centred care and provide expert clinical consultancy across the breast cancer care continuum
• Coordinate care and support patients and families
• Promote a multidisciplinary approach to treatment and recovery

Required profile

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Minimum 5 years full-time equivalent post-registration experience in surgical or medical oncology
• At least 3 years' experience in breast or cancer care (or a closely related field)
• Postgraduate qualification in breast care nursing or cancer nursing
• Demonstrated understanding of contemporary breast cancer care practices and research
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to deliver holistic, patient-centred care tailored to individual needs
• Australian citizenship, Australian permanent residency or a New Zealand passport; no visa sponsorship available

• Pay of $75.35-$76.85 plus superannuation and salary packaging
• 20 hours per week, temporary part-time until April 2027
