Branch Manager - Fire Protection Systems

About the role

Wormald, a leading fire protection company founded in 1889, is looking for a Branch Manager to run its Mackay branch. The manager oversees day-to-day operations, manages and reviews risk and cost controls, and ensures the branch's activities comply with safety regulations. The role suits someone with fire industry or building services experience; a related trade background is an advantage.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of technicians, resolving technical challenges so tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
• Oversee daily operations and drive productivity in the maintenance and servicing of fire protection systems.
• Ensure workplace, health and safety compliance with company and branch policies and KPIs, and that work meets contractual requirements and industry standards.
• Conduct site inspections, field leadership activities and audits to maintain quality performance.
• Plan and schedule maintenance and service activities so they finish on time.
• Maintain communication with clients and stakeholders, giving regular updates and keeping customers satisfied.
• Identify and resolve site issues proactively, implementing improvements.

Required profile

• Supervisory or managerial experience, preferably in fire protection, with an electrical or mechanical trades background.
• Experience in fire protection or building services is preferred.
• Ability to lead, mentor and support technicians and to schedule and plan tasks while managing competing priorities.
• Strong understanding of workplace, health and safety responsibilities and compliance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Resides in, or is willing to relocate to, Mackay.
