Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant

About the role

Join a dynamic, growing professional services accounting practice as a Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant. You will support the Head of Bookkeeping and work with a diverse portfolio of business clients, gaining hands‑on exposure to a broad range of accounting tasks.

Key responsibilities

• End‑to‑end payroll processing and payroll tax compliance.
• Manage job budgets, timesheets and related reporting.
• Prepare and lodge quarterly and monthly Business Activity Statements (BAS).
• Prepare, review and distribute monthly financial reports.
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within an accounting or bookkeeping firm.
• Experience with payroll awards and related applications.
• Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of business clients.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Xero accounting software.
• Proficiency in MYOB accounting software.
