About the role
Pork Storks Australia is seeking an experienced swine professional to act as the second‑in‑command at its Boar Stud in Glencoe. You will support the Operations Manager, lead daily activities in the boar shed and step in when the manager is absent.
Key responsibilities
- Back up the Operations Manager and cover their duties during absences.
- Coordinate the boar shed team’s tasks to meet production and dispatch deadlines.
- Collect, process and pack semen while ensuring boar care and training.
- Maintain accurate quality, APIQ and dispatch records ready for audit.
- Train new team members on operational procedures.
Required profile
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the swine industry.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and direct others.
- Strong attention to detail and record‑keeping.
- Willingness to work rostered weekends.
- Current Australian driver’s licence.
Required skills
- Experience with semen collection and laboratory testing.
- Familiarity with APIQ and PigPass systems.
- Knowledge of CASA and PRISM platforms (preferred).
