Behaviour Therapist & Counsellor (Part-Time)

About the role

Reliance Care & Support, an Allied Health Service and NDIS Registered Provider serving the Western Melbourne community, is looking for a Behaviour Therapist & Counsellor to join its allied health team on a part-time basis. You will work with clients across the lifespan who present with behavioural challenges, providing assessment, intervention and support to help them reach their goals.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct functional behaviour assessments and develop positive behaviour support plans
• Provide individual and group counselling to clients with mental health concerns
• Work with clients presenting with challenging behaviours, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability and other conditions
• Implement evidence-based behaviour intervention strategies
• Support clients and their families to develop coping skills and self-regulation strategies
• Collaborate with psychologists, occupational therapists and other team members
• Provide services to NDIS participants and private clients
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes

Required profile

• Relevant qualifications in behaviour support, counselling or a related field
• NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner registration (or eligible)
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or behavioural challenges
• Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check

Required skills

• Knowledge of positive behaviour support frameworks
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Empathy, patience and a client-centred approach
