Bar Supervisor

About the role

We are looking for a passionate Bar Supervisor to join the award‑winning Food & Beverage team at Mary Mary, the boutique cocktail bar and spirits library located within The Tasman Luxury Collection Hotel in Hobart. The successful candidate will oversee daily bar operations, ensure luxury service standards, and help create memorable guest experiences in a sophisticated, modern cocktail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day‑to‑day bar operations, maintaining high guest service standards.
• Lead by example on the floor, delivering luxury hospitality and memorable experiences.
• Train, coach and develop bar associates to improve performance and product knowledge.
• Prepare and present beverages to brand and venue standards.
• Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and manage inventory.
• Ensure compliance with responsible service of alcohol (RSA) requirements and venue policies.
• Handle guest feedback, concerns and service recovery professionally.
• Support rostering, shift handovers and daily operational administration.
• Promote beverage sales and achieve departmental performance targets.

Required profile

• Previous supervisory experience in a premium bar, cocktail venue, restaurant or hotel.
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines and current beverage trends.
• Proven ability to lead, coach and develop team members.
• Passion for delivering exceptional, personalised guest experiences.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational ability and multitasking in a dynamic environment.
• Understanding of stock control, inventory management and cost‑conscious operations.
• Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification.
