Backend Software Engineer – Finance Super App

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer to build the core systems behind BJAK's finance super‑app. You will design and deliver reliable APIs, workflows and financial‑product infrastructure that serve millions of users across multiple markets and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop backend services, APIs and workflows for insurance, payments, wallet, savings, investing, travel and other financial services.
• Design and maintain systems for user accounts, transactions, partner integrations, reconciliation, notifications and operations.
• Collaborate with product and mobile teams to ship customer‑facing journeys quickly.
• Integrate with banks, payment gateways, insurers, data providers and other third‑party partners.
• Improve system reliability, observability, security and performance.
• Ensure solutions are auditable and compliant with regulated financial‑product requirements.

Required profile

• 3+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals in API development, databases, system design and production debugging.
• Proven ability to build scalable services and integrate third‑party systems.
• Good understanding of security, reliability, data quality and operational edge cases.
• Comfortable working with product, mobile, operations and business teams.
• FinTech, payments, insurance, lending or banking experience is a strong advantage.
