Backend Software Engineer (Elixir/Phoenix)

About the role

Yojee is looking for a Backend Software Engineer to help build enterprise‑grade logistics platforms. You will work on real‑time freight workflows, distributed systems and AI‑enabled engineering practices in a collaborative Sydney office.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain distributed, event‑driven backend services.
• Implement real‑time freight and logistics workflows.
• Orchestrate data pipelines and ensure reliability of high‑volume systems.
• Manage production deployments, CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure.
• Leverage AI‑assisted coding tools to improve development efficiency.
• (For full‑stack candidates) Deliver React/TypeScript front‑end features end‑to‑end.

Required profile

• 4–6 years of experience building production‑grade backend systems.
• Strong background in Elixir and Phoenix (preferred).
• Experience with distributed or event‑driven architectures.
• Solid understanding of databases and cloud infrastructure (PostgreSQL, AWS, Docker, CI/CD).
• Practical use of AI‑assisted engineering tools.
• Effective communicator who collaborates well and cares about code quality.
