AWS DevOps Engineer – Cloud Infrastructure & Automation

About the role

NCS Australia is seeking an AWS DevOps Engineer to join its cloud engineering team. You will design, deploy and manage scalable, reliable, and secure AWS platforms while championing automation and best‑in‑class CI/CD practices.

Key responsibilities

• Design and manage AWS infrastructure for scalability, reliability, and security.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure‑as‑Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Develop and optimise CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.).
• Automate operational tasks with scripting languages such as Python, Bash or PowerShell.
• Monitor system health using logging and observability tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Support incident response, troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve DevOps practices and deployment processes.
• Implement cloud security controls and best practices.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with core AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, etc.).
• Proficiency with Infrastructure‑as‑Code, preferably Terraform.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and containerisation (Docker; Kubernetes desirable).
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash or PowerShell.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, load balancing, VPCs).
• Background supporting production systems and performing troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus or Grafana.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
