Associate Professor – Occupational Therapy

About the role

Western Sydney University is seeking an innovative Associate Professor to lead and expand its Occupational Therapy programme. Based at the Campbelltown Campus, the role combines high‑impact research, curriculum development and undergraduate teaching within a flexible working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Secure competitive research funding and lead projects that influence practice, education and policy.
• Deliver engaging, evidence‑based teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate units, including blended and simulation‑based delivery.
• Lead curriculum design and continuous improvement for occupational therapy courses.
• Supervise and mentor higher degree research students to timely completion.
• Develop and maintain strong internal and external partnerships with industry, health services and community organisations.

Required profile

• PhD in a discipline relevant to Occupational Therapy and current AHPRA registration.
• Demonstrated research leadership with a record of impact in practice, education or policy.
• Proven ability to supervise higher degree research students and mentor early‑career academics.
• Experience in delivering innovative learning experiences, including online and simulation methods.
• Strong communication, collaboration and partnership‑building skills.
• Current NSW Working with Children Check or ability to obtain one before start date.
