Associate Professor, Early Childhood

About the role

The School of Education seeks an Associate Professor to lead Early Childhood Education teaching, research, and partnerships at the Bankstown campus. This senior academic position offers full‑time, ongoing employment with flexible working arrangements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of undergraduate and postgraduate Early Childhood Education programmes.
• Enhance student experience through high‑quality teaching, research‑informed learning and professional placement support.
• Develop a strong research profile by publishing in high‑impact journals, securing external grants and supervising postgraduate research students.
• Mentor academic colleagues, contribute to governance and build effective partnerships with schools, regulatory bodies and community organisations.

Required profile

• PhD or EdD in Early Childhood Education.
• Extensive tertiary teaching experience, including curriculum design, delivery, assessment and e‑learning methods.
• Proven experience developing early childhood curricula aligned with educator and leader development.
• Demonstrated supervision of Honours and higher degree research students.
• Strong research record with high‑quality publications, successful grant activity and research leadership.
