Associate Nurse Unit Manager - Residential Aged Care

About the role

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager is a key clinical leadership position within the Blackwood Cottage team, which supports residents with enduring mental illness in a residential aged care setting. The role works closely with the Nurse Unit Manager to maintain care standards, foster a positive team culture and ensure residents receive safe, compassionate and individualised care. It is a part-time opportunity of 16 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance, mentoring and clinical support to staff and students
• Help maintain care standards and support the delivery of high-quality care
• Contribute to the ongoing development, planning and evaluation of services
• Work with the Nurse Unit Manager to promote person-centred care, individual choice and self-determination for residents

• Strong clinical leadership and a commitment to person-centred care
• Ability to support, guide and mentor staff in a multidisciplinary environment
• Commitment to high standards of clinical care and service delivery
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion for improving outcomes for people living with enduring mental illness
