Associate Director, Business Execution

About the role

The Associate Director, Business Execution will join ANZ’s Institutional Strategy & Execution team, supporting the Capital Markets, Balance Sheet Trading (BST) and Markets COO Office. Reporting to senior leadership, the role focuses on delivering the strategic agenda across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe and the United States, providing analysis and governance to drive business performance.

Key responsibilities

• Drive and support the development and execution of growth initiatives for Capital Markets and BST, and implement process improvements within the Markets COO Office.
• Provide trusted, data‑driven advice to business and desk heads, constructively challenging decisions where appropriate.
• Support business change and non‑financial risk uplift projects in partnership with stakeholders and the Institutional Business Execution team.
• Manage and monitor key financial metrics and non‑financial performance indicators across all operating countries.
• Develop, communicate, execute and track business strategies, projects and initiatives that improve efficiency and embed best practices.
• Lead by example, contributing to a high‑performing, sustainable business culture.

Required profile

• Significant experience in business execution, strategy or performance management within capital markets, BST or a comparable financial environment.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to produce executive‑level reporting and insights.
• Proven capability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cross‑functional initiatives.
• Experience monitoring financial and non‑financial performance across multiple jurisdictions.
• Demonstrated track record of leading change programmes and embedding process improvements.
