Associate Consultant - Cyber Security

About the role

SoftwareOne Australia is looking for an Associate Consultant to help protect cloud environments on AWS and Azure. You will gain hands‑on experience in security monitoring, incident response, compliance, risk assessment, and automation.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor AWS and Azure environments and respond to security incidents using industry‑standard tools.
• Implement and maintain security controls, including identity management, encryption, and network security.
• Assist investigations of breaches, vulnerabilities, and other security events.
• Support compliance with standards such as ISO 27001 and GDPR.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to assess and mitigate cloud security risks.
• Help automate security processes across cloud infrastructure.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Cybersecurity, IT or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset with interest in cloud security.
• Ability to work collaboratively and learn from experienced colleagues.

Required skills

• AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
• Security tools such as firewalls, VPNs and SIEM solutions.
• Knowledge of security frameworks and standards (NIST, ISO 27001).
• Understanding of identity management, encryption and network security concepts.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals) are a plus.
