Assistant Site Manager – Grain Handling

About the role

As the Assistant Site Manager at GrainCorp’s Burren Junction site, you will support the Site Manager and work alongside a permanent team of Grain Handlers to deliver safe and efficient grain receival, storage and outload via road and rail.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily workflow of the team and assist with recruitment, training and development of permanent and casual staff.
• Develop and maintain relationships with growers, customers, community groups and internal stakeholders.
• Assist the Site Manager with budget implementation, financial planning and achievement of site performance targets.
• Support resource planning for grain receival and outload during peak and off‑peak periods.
• Plan and execute scheduled and ad‑hoc maintenance, grain protection, safety and quality activities and related reporting.
• Supervise a large seasonal workforce across multiple sites during harvest intake periods.

Required profile

• Plant operations experience in any industry with a strong safety mindset.
• Demonstrated ability or potential to supervise teams.
• Previous grain handling experience is preferred.
• Good communication, time‑management and IT literacy.
• Capability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
