Assistant Restaurant Manager – New Store Launch

About the role

Guzman y Gomez is opening a brand‑new restaurant in Cranebrook in 2026 and is looking for an Assistant Restaurant Manager to help build the team from the ground up. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the culture, standards and operational excellence of the new outlet.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, onboard and train a team of 100+ staff before the restaurant opens.
• Support the full opening process, ensuring operational readiness and launch execution.
• Assist in managing a multi‑million‑dollar business unit, focusing on sales growth, cost control and guest experience.
• Embed GYG’s brand standards, safety procedures and cultural celebrations from day one.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and KPI tracking.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading teams in a fast‑paced, high‑energy environment.
• Strong commercial awareness with a track record of meeting sales and profit targets.
• Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and building high‑performing teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, leading by example.
• Proactive, can‑do attitude with a willingness to take ownership of results.

Required skills

• Experience managing P&L and operational budgets.
• Ability to analyse performance data and drive improvements.
• Knowledge of fast‑food or hospitality industry best practices.
