Assistant Relationship Manager – Business Banking (Emerald, QLD)

About the role

The Assistant Relationship Manager will support Relationship Managers in delivering value‑added banking services to business customers across agricultural and commercial sectors in the Emerald region. This permanent, onsite position offers the chance to develop analytical and client‑service skills within a dynamic banking environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Relationship Managers in managing assigned customer portfolios.
• Respond promptly and professionally to client queries, adhering to service standards.
• Perform administrative tasks to ensure customer files and documentation comply with Suncorp policies.
• Extract and analyse financial statements, cash‑flow forecasts and other complex financial reports.
• Assess lending risk in line with the Risk Appetite Statement and help maximise profit.
• Promote a risk‑management culture and proactively escalate issues.
• Follow the complaint‑resolution process to maintain service quality and mitigate risk.
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and collaborate across teams.
• Contribute to a positive safety and wellbeing culture.

Required profile

• Ability to support Relationship Managers in portfolio management.
• Strong analytical capability for financial statement and cash‑flow analysis.
• Understanding of lending risk assessment and risk‑management principles.
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction and stakeholder collaboration.
• Commitment to compliance, complaint handling and safety standards.
