Assistant Manager - Captain Cook Tavern

About the role

The Captain Cook Tavern, owned by Endeavour Group, is a busy suburban pub in Kippa-Ring, Queensland, serving weekday lunch rushes, family dinners, game-day crowds and host service in its gaming room. The Assistant Manager works on the floor alongside other Assistant Managers, partnering with venue leadership to run smooth services, mentor the local floor team and keep high standards across all departments.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely and with a great atmosphere
• Lead a team of hospitality staff and mentor the floor team
• Build strong relationships with regular customers
• Handle problems quickly so they do not become bigger issues
• Deliver the energy, service and smiles every shift

Required profile

• Experience working in a bar, bistro or gaming room, possibly with some prior supervising
• Confidence, pride and people skills to represent the pub when the boss is away
• Ability to handle stock, kegs and deliveries safely and efficiently
• Current RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence as per state requirements
