Assistant Coordinator – Early Childhood (Zillmere)

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Coordinator to join our vibrant early childhood service in Zillmere. This role is ideal for an experienced OSHC educator or a leader who wants to shape a high‑quality, inclusive community where every child thrives.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and document educational programs aligned with play‑based learning.
• Create staff rosters, supervise educators and support their professional growth.
• Handle administration and financial tasks, including fee collection.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment for children.
• Promote the service within the local community in line with our Catholic Early Education values.

Required profile

• Demonstrated commitment to child‑centred practices that amplify children’s voice and agency.
• Ability to foster a positive service culture built on care, empathy, inclusion and respect.
• Leadership skills to guide educators in creating engaging learning environments.
• Willingness to act as Responsible Person In Charge when the Coordinator is absent.

Required skills

• Diploma in Children Services or equivalent as per ACECQA guidelines.
• Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card), First Aid, CPR and Asthma/Anaphylaxis certifications.
• Knowledge of the National Quality Framework, My Time Our Place framework and relevant legislation.
• Effective computer skills with experience using childcare management software (Xplor preferred).
