Assistant Accountant

About the role

Join TLC Healthcare’s Finance team to support the financial success of one of Australia’s leading healthcare organisations. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will help maintain the integrity of the general ledger, assist with month‑end and year‑end processes, and contribute to budgeting, forecasting and regulatory reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain balance‑sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Process general ledger journal entries and support month‑end and year‑end accounting activities.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Support BAS preparation, statutory reporting, audit requirements and fixed‑asset register maintenance.
• Contribute to healthcare‑specific reporting such as NH3 and Monthly Operating Reports.
• Provide ad‑hoc support to Accounts Payable, Payroll and invoicing when needed.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives to enhance financial service quality.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a financial accounting role.
• CA or CPA qualified, or actively working towards qualification.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards.
• Advanced analytical and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
