Assistant Accountant

About the role

Cranecorp Australia is looking for a motivated Assistant Accountant to join its Finance Team in Henderson. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and working closely with the Senior Accountant, you will help deliver accurate and timely financial information that supports commercial decisions across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with month‑end close processes, journal entries and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Provide accounting support for accounts payable and receivable functions.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register, including depreciation and disposals.
• Contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives and documentation.
• Support management reporting, variance analysis and stakeholder engagement.
• Help prepare statutory reports, audits, BAS, PAYG and FBT filings.
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting and ad‑hoc financial analysis.

Required profile

• A degree in Accounting, Commerce, Information Technology or a related field.
• Progress towards, or intention to commence, CA or CPA qualification.
• 2–3 years of experience in an assistant accountant or similar finance role.
• Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to work.
• Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
