Aquatic Education Officer (Swim Teacher)

About the role

The Shire of Narrogin is looking for enthusiastic Aquatic Education Officers (Swim Teachers) to join the team at the Narrogin Regional Leisure Centre. The role delivers safe, engaging and high-quality swimming lessons to participants of all ages and abilities, and is available as full-time, part-time or casual employment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver structured swimming lessons for participants of varying ages and skill levels.
• Promote water safety and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Adapt teaching methods to individual learning needs and abilities.
• Monitor and assess progress and give constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate attendance, progress and competency records.
• Communicate with participants, parents and guardians.
• Help with equipment maintenance and report safety concerns.
• Work with Swim School teachers and facility staff to coordinate lessons and activities.
• Provide good customer service to participants and families.

Required profile

• AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Certificate or Royal Life Saving Swim Teacher Certificate.
• Current First Aid Certificate and Working with Children Check.
• Sound knowledge of aquatic facility rules, regulations and safety requirements.
• Knowledge of CPR and first aid procedures.
• Desirable: previous swimming instruction experience, unrestricted C class driver's licence, child protection and safety protocol knowledge, and knowledge of emergency response and evacuation plans.
