About the role
The Takeovers Panel is seeking an APS5 Paralegal to join its high‑performing in‑house legal team in Melbourne. This full‑time position offers exposure to mergers and acquisitions, corporate control transactions, and the regulatory framework governing takeovers in Australia.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in the day‑to‑day management of applications before the Panel, ensuring efficient and timely resolution.
- Draft correspondence and matter‑related documents, and analyse and summarise information and documents.
- Provide administrative support for Panel proceedings, including maintaining matter files, contact lists, data rooms, and publishing media releases.
- Support legal staff throughout proceedings and assist in drafting policy and guidance through legal research.
- Liaise with related agencies, industry groups, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders on operational matters.
- Communicate with parties to Panel proceedings, including leading lawyers and other stakeholders.
Required profile
- Completed or currently undertaking a law degree, other legal study, or previous paralegal experience.
- Availability to work full‑time.
- Based in Melbourne, Victoria.
