About the role

Green by Nature, Australia's leading landscape and green space management company, is seeking an enthusiastic Apprentice Parks & Gardens team member for its Canberra team. The apprenticeship combines paid on-the-job learning with formal study to complete a nationally recognised horticulture qualification, with hands-on work maintaining and enhancing landscapes such as the grounds of the University of Canberra.

Key responsibilities

• Garden and landscape maintenance
• Turf and plant care
• Irrigation systems
• Plant identification and establishment
• Weed, pest and disease management
• Machinery and equipment operation
• Soil improvement and plant nutrition
• Workplace health and safety practices

Required profile

• No previous horticulture experience required
• Enjoys working outdoors and being active
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic and eagerness to learn
• Team player, reliable and committed to completing the apprenticeship
• Willingness to obtain a White Card and a Working With Vulnerable People check
• Driver's licence desirable but not essential
