API Developer – .NET Core & Azure

About the role

We are seeking an experienced API Developer to join an established agile delivery team that is modernising a 20‑year‑old Work Management System. The role focuses on rebuilding and exposing complex legacy data through modern .NET APIs on Microsoft Azure, replacing tightly‑coupled stored‑procedure‑driven workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain RESTful APIs using .NET Core (C#).
• Modernise legacy WMS integrations by exposing data and business logic via APIs.
• Implement data access and migration strategies with Entity Framework Core.
• Develop, optimise and refactor SQL Server/T‑SQL stored procedures.
• Support data migration from legacy systems to Azure‑based services.
• Contribute to system performance, scalability and resilience improvements.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and collaborate with BAs, testers, architects and product owners.
• Document APIs and technical decisions for maintainability.

Required profile

• Strong commercial experience with .NET Core / C# (experience with .NET 5/6; exposure to .NET 8/10 is a plus).
• Hands‑on experience building APIs on Microsoft Azure (App Services, Functions, Azure SQL, etc.).
• Solid experience with Entity Framework Core.
• Advanced SQL Server/T‑SQL skills, including stored‑procedure development and performance tuning.
• Proven track record modernising legacy systems (10‑20+ years old) and handling data migration.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Australian citizenship with ability to obtain Baseline security clearance.
