Android Engineer

About the role

As an Android Engineer you will build and scale native Android experiences that directly impact conversion, retention and customer lifetime value for Luxury Escapes. You will work on initiatives such as improving the booking flow, adding upsell and loyalty features, supporting offline use cases and rolling out multi‑language support for new international markets.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high‑quality Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
• Implement modern UI with Jetpack Compose and follow Android UI best practices.
• Improve booking, payment and post‑booking flows, including offline capabilities.
• Integrate with RESTful APIs and ensure robust, scalable architecture (MVVM, Clean Architecture).
• Collaborate with the Node.js Backend‑for‑Frontend team and optionally contribute to backend services.
• Write automated tests and maintain code quality standards.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level engineers and share knowledge across the mobile team.

Required profile

• Strong experience building native Android apps with Kotlin (Java experience a plus).
• Proficiency with Jetpack Compose and modern Android UI patterns.
• Solid understanding of Android frameworks, SDK and architectural patterns such as MVVM and Clean Architecture.
• Experience integrating with RESTful APIs.
• Comfort using AI‑augmented development tools to accelerate delivery and improve code quality.
• Ability to mentor and support junior/mid‑level engineers.
• Interest in or experience with Node.js services (Backend‑for‑Frontend) is desirable.
