Air Conditioning Technician

About the role

Level Electrical & Air Maitland, a growing local business serving Maitland, Newcastle and the Hunter Valley, is looking for an experienced air conditioning technician. You will work across residential, commercial and industrial sites on installations, servicing, fault-finding and repairs. The role is full-time, pays above award rates and offers a four-day week.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair air conditioning and heat pump systems
• Diagnose HVAC faults using gauges, thermometers and other diagnostic tools
• Read and interpret mechanical, electrical and refrigeration schematics
• Complete work safely and in line with Australian standards
• Explain faults, solutions and service costs to customers and identify out-of-scope work
• Maintain job records, timesheets and photo documentation in field-based software
• Organise materials through preferred suppliers and support apprentices

Required profile

• Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
• Current Refrigerant Handling Licence and Australian driver's licence
• Police check and Working with Children check, or willingness to obtain them
• Dual air conditioning and electrical qualification highly regarded but not essential
• Apprentices in their third or fourth year are encouraged to apply

Required skills

• Installation, servicing and fault-finding
• Understanding of refrigeration, electrical and safety standards
• Confidence with digital job-management tools, or willingness to learn
