Aerospace Design and Certification Engineer (On‑Site)

About the role

Javelin Aerospace is looking for an experienced Design and Certification Engineer to join its Warana, Queensland team. The role involves delivering airworthiness certification and regulatory compliance for fixed‑wing and rotary‑wing aircraft under CASA, EASA and FAA frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret project briefs and collaborate with internal engineers, clients, maintainers and regulators to define certification strategies.
• Develop certification plans, compliance matrices and supporting documentation in line with airworthiness standards.
• Prepare engineering reports and substantiation documents for minor and major modifications.
• Engage with CASA and, where applicable, EASA or FAA representatives to support approval activities.
• Conduct compliance assessments against Parts 23, 25, 27 and 29 and related advisory material.
• Review engineering data, drawings and analyses to ensure alignment with approved design data and regulatory intent.
• Maintain accurate certification records and configuration control.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of internal certification and compliance processes.
• Stay current with developments in airworthiness legislation and guidance material.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of direct experience in airworthiness certification or regulatory compliance within an aviation environment.
• Working knowledge of CASR Part 21M processes and applicable airworthiness standards.
• Full Australian working rights and willingness to be based in Warana, QLD.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks or Siemens NX.
• Understanding of Parts 23, 25, 27, 29 compliance and related advisory material.
• Familiarity with CASA, EASA and FAA regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to produce certification plans, compliance matrices and engineering reports.
