Accounts Payable Officer

About the role

Join a collaborative finance team supporting residential aged‑care services. As an Accounts Payable Officer you will apply your accounting expertise to manage resident accounts, billing, and government funding reconciliations, directly contributing to the wellbeing of residents and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Manage resident admissions, discharges and billing adjustments.
• Monitor outstanding resident fees, government subsidies and debtor accounts.
• Reconcile resident accounts, accommodation payments and RAD/DAP balances.
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and account queries.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations and assist with reporting activities.
• Liaise with Services Australia, residents, families and internal stakeholders.
• Support audits, compliance activities and process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience in Accounts Payable within the residential aged‑care sector.
• Working knowledge of RADs and DAPSs in aged‑care services.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Customer‑focused approach with a professional telephone manner.
