Accounts Payable Officer (Contract/Temp)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join a rapidly growing organisation in Western Sydney. This 6‑month contract role offers the opportunity to transition to a permanent position for the right candidate. You will report directly to the Finance Manager and play a key part in managing the company’s payable processes.

Key responsibilities

• Process daily claim payments, including downloading, uploading and coordinating.
• Handle daily OPEX payments such as employee reimbursements, supplier invoices and allocations.
• Manage the expense portal and coordinate with suppliers as needed.
• Liaise with vendors regarding changes to bank account details.
• Close accounts payable at month‑end, ensuring all entries are posted and the AP clearing account balances to zero.
• Provide accruals to the Financial Accountant and reconcile AMEX statements.
• Maintain the AP aging trial balance and ensure sub‑ledger ties with the general ledger.
• Assist finance with due‑diligence for acquisitions and support ad‑hoc AP projects.

Required profile

• 2+ years of end‑to‑end Accounts Payable experience.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Experience in commercial industries.
• Ability to work autonomously with high attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Required skills

• SAP or other ERP systems
• Intermediate proficiency in Excel
